Dr. Franken is probably one of my favourite games for the original Gameboy, but it turns out that Elite actually had plans for a NES version of the game - how I would have loved to own/play that back in the day.
The game was developed by a company called Cygnus, or most likely an outsourced port, as the NES version plays just like its Gameboy counterpart. It was supposed to be released in 1993, being quite late in the NES' lifespan, maybe too late.
A prototype was discovered a long time ago and according to the website "The Cutting Room Floor", the rom has a multi language menu, however no other languages but english are implemented in the game. The language menu is visible in the Gameboy version of Dr. Franken 2 though.
On a sidenote, a Dr. Franken 3 was supposedly in the works according to the "Games That Weren't" website.
